Club Mahindra: A Legacy of Exploitation and Misman

I have been a Purple 1-bedroom member of Club Mahindra since 2004—the highest membership tier in their program. This membership, which comes with a hefty Rs. 20 Lakh plus at present, non-refundable price tag, was supposed to offer luxury, exclusivity, and a seamless holiday experience. Instead, it has turned into a nightmare of exploitation, broken promises, and corporate greed.


The Financial Trap


Let me start by addressing the hidden trap of their business model. Memberships like mine are sold at astronomical prices, with the promise of lifelong memories. But here’s the catch: the membership expires after 25 years, and the fee is non-refundable. On top of this, the company demands an Annual Service Fee(ASF) of ₹28, 000 for 7 nights of credit for the year 2024-25. Y-O-Y this ASF increases based on Wholesale Price Index


Despite paying this exorbitant ASF for 2022 and 2023—a total of 14 paid credits—I am now being denied the right to use my credits because I haven’t paid the 2024 ASF. The points required for my December 2024 booking(4.5 points) at Jaipur are from previously paid ASFs, yet Club Mahindra refuses to honor the booking. I was made to cancel my holiday from 10th to 18th Dec 2024.


This is outright extortion. How can a company block access to services I’ve already paid for and tie it to unrelated future payments? It’s not just unfair—it’s unethical and possibly illegal.


Betrayal of Trust and Exploitation of Loyalty


After nearly two decades of membership, I expected some semblance of respect and flexibility. Instead, Club Mahindra treats its long-standing members as nothing more than cash cows. Their approach is rigid, callous, and devoid of any consideration for the loyalty or significant financial investment made by their members.


A Warning to Prospective Members:


If you’re considering joining Club Mahindra, don’t fall for their colorful advertisements or the allure of “luxury holidays.” Here’s what you can actually expect:

  1. Non-refundable membership fees that bind you to their terms without recourse.

  2. Rising ASFs that are mandatory and non-negotiable. If you miss even one payment, they’ll block access to your fully paid credits.

  3. A customer service team trained to give you the runaround and deny accountability.

  4. A complete disregard for fairness, flexibility, or member satisfaction.

Club Mahindra’s Downfall: Arrogance and Greed


It’s evident that Club Mahindra has grown complacent, riding on its past reputation while exploiting its members. This isn’t the hallmark of a trustworthy or sustainable company—it’s the sign of a business that has lost its moral compass.


To Club Mahindra: Shame on you for treating loyal members with such disdain. Your business model relies on deceiving new customers and alienating existing ones. Such practices may sustain you temporarily, but they will ultimately lead to your downfall.
