CNBC TV18 and other business channels.

CNBC TV18 is the sleekest amongst the Blue channels. Their anchors are most good looking and one does get hooked to the channel as the presentation is very attractive.

Tune it at 08:00 for Bazaar Morning Call, where Udayan and Mitali Mukherjee will give you an idea about the market that day. It is the most authentic that one can get. Thereafter you can switch channels, for after that there will be a parade of experts who will mostly talk nonsense. Except for Vaibhab Kapoor, Satish Betadpur, P.N.Vijay, Ashish Chugh and  a few others you can give others a miss. Aswini Gujaral (with due respect to the gentleman) deserves special mention in misleading investors and traders. Sudarshan Sukhani was good, but these days he is absolutely dud. Never ever decide to trade going by their recommendations. They will advice you to go short on Suzlon at 56 and exit Punj Lloyd at 140. Another gentleman Mr. Tulsiyan will give a long lecture on fundamentals, but if you follow his advice you can be rest assured of a loss. However, most of the times the experts will play both sides, that will lead you nowhere.

Zee Business, in comparison gives the best suggestions and their experts do give somewhat sound advice. They are those serious types and mean business. Those who are seriously into trading should watch this channel. The absence of women commentators is another plus point in this channel, for presence of women surely makes any show a little frivolous. And however one might argue, the stock market is really not a forte for women.

At times NDTV Profit gives good ideas, but their programming is somewhat unattractive and you don’t feel like sitting in front of this channel for long. Same with ET now, which has some most irritating anchors and experts. Ashu Dutt cannot be tolerated most of the times and Deepak Motwani is almost certain to give you all wrong ideas.

Watch any channel you like, but invest or trade as per your research or with the assistance of a good financial advisor or brokerage house.
