This is my second review in mouthshut.com. For past few days I was watching CNNIBN after I reach home from office. Their shows specially CROSSFIRE - by Mr. Rajdeep is really commendable. As an anchor as well as a presenter I will give Rajdeep 10 out of 10. As far as journalism is concerned I feel they are moving towards right direction.
If we recall we can see the way News Broadcasting is improved . In those early days the AIR ( All India Radio ) and Doordarshan was the one and only player with typical ’’Govt. filtered’’ news content.
After NDA govt. and due to open government policies FDI is possible in news channels ( software media ). We can see the fruit as CNNIBN. CNN-IBN is a partnership between Global Broadcast News (GBN), a TV18 Group Company, and Turner International (Turner) in India.
I heartily congratulate CNNIBN and Mr. Sardesai to show a different news which is encouraging rather than news containing RAPE, MURDER, BRIBED POLITICIANS which covered by all other News Channels. I feel journalism is not only showing the crude part of the society but also carrying the challenge to show a good way to solve these social challenges.
For example take the instance of their yesterdays coverage - PARITRANA - A political verture of 5 IITians .
We can blame politicians and ask them to be honest and bla bla.. but, we never try to be a honest politician. Most of our politicians are from college background (if literate ) and did paltry college politics to set an image in his political career. I doubt whether they have any good intentions other than power and minting money.In other channels we encounter news that shows political leaders taking bribes, but its really difficult to show politicians are also doing good thing for the society.
pointing out faults and making issue is rather easy than taking the responsibility to solve the same. As a news channel CNNIBN has started showing / highlighting the probable solutions to our current social agonies.
I appreciate other channels to follow the same way of Mr. Sardesai and encourage true journalism.
