If there is anything in india that can keep pace with the population growth , it has to be the growth in the number of news channels coming up.
Every month a news channel is launched(regional news channels included).Every channel boasts of a new dimension that other channels cannot provide you with.
But, one look at all the channels will reveal the fact that no channel is special.(there are some channels which make up good trp ratings , thanks to sting op’s).
One good channel we had was ndtv.
I was looking for variety and as if to give that variety, came RaJU’s ’’cnn ibn’’.
The king of this new army is ofcourse the very special rajdeep sardesai.
Remember those days when rajdeep was at his vintage best in ’’BIG FIGHT’’.
One thing that has impressed me greatly, about cnn ibn is the pace at which they bring the news(be it iisc attack be it the gujarat mass grave )They have always manged to bring the news quicker than their other media counter parts.
News broad casting is all about bringing the news to the viewers at an express pace and also giving them every fact related to the event.
Another great facet of cnn ibn is the way it deals with sensitive issues . I feel that it does not sensationalise the news as much as some others do (to expect a channel not to sensationalise at all would be foolish , given the, fight to make it to the top of the ladder as the best news channel).
Citizen journalist exercise has also helped cnn ibn .
When I look at a photo or a piece of info frm a citizen journalist, I feel like contributing.
All the programs that are hosted by raj are extremely good, for , he uses all his experience to make them very interesting.
In the longer run , I believe, it will be raj’s abilities and cnbc teams network of journalists that will make it a success.
