CNN news was prominent during the Gulf War. Prominent, meaning the only major news service offered to a world of interest during the war. Soon, they were in court, over 10 years, to do battle with FNC {Fox News Network} and keep them out of the playing arena. FNC won, and CNN has a run for its money and NEWS . Now, the playing field is even. Long known for their liberal slant, CNN has competed with the more conservative and balanced reporting from FNC.

The owner and creator, billionaire Ted Turner has never hid his liberal politics. And, with his right and freedom of speech, why should he? The problem for 2/3 of the viewing audience to CNN only had a problem when he allowed his slant to filter through the news. Owning various movie cable stations, CNN was his crowning glory. Once FNC came on the scene, CNN was forced to invite some conservative slant to do battle.

Personal review
Because I can see both the conservative and liberal views fairly even, I prefer FNC. {see my review on Fox News Network} With the ratings war and the gains by FNC, the American people {and global} have also given FNC the headsup on primetime . The major story to me is that we now have a more balanced offering for the world, as CNN no longer controls the airways. I do watch some CNN. It is there for the taker and one needs only decide fair and balanced with a simple push of a button on a remote.
