Coke is the best!

This is my first review on the lovely site MouthShut.com and I am writing with a great deal of trepidation. I hope that my style of writing finds favor with those who are very active on this great site. So here goes.

Alright, alright, soft drinks are really not the best health deal one may strike. Also, I know that in this day and age of extreme health consciousness, one may consider the sentence to follow a bit of an anachronism, but the fact is: I SIMPLY LOVE SOFT DRINKS. Health be damned, fads be damned further. For me it’s like quenching my thirst with the heavenly nectar.

But folks, I am indeed very finicky when it comes to my taste buds. I am a foodie, a drinkie (not the hic-hic types you bet), and what not. I love the best things in life. There was a time when I would actually splurge on chocolates, ice creams, and of course soft drinks. However, all this was done with a sense of choice. Now, after marriage I may have cut down on the chocolates and ice creams but soft drinks .. sorry I cannot avoid those. I need a soft drink after every meal. But, it’s not just any soft drink. If my thirst has to be quenched, then the source has to be COKE and nothing else but COKE.

My husband prefers beer (and that is also very rare) and keeps on convincing me to have a glass or two with him. But alcohol is a strict no from my side. I did try it out during college days, but for now its just COKE. Why? It’s got to be the taste sillies, obviously. I just love its taste. Unlike its archrival Pepsi, it’s not too sweet. It’s got the right tang that makes me go slurp, slurp. I always have a bottle of Coke stacked in my fridge, and thank God for the fact that I still haven’t managed to gain undue weight. My husband makes sure that I sweat it out in the gym everyday. As they say, no gains without pain.

My guests know that any visit to our place is incomplete without the mandatory COKE-round. They even rib me on being an excellent PRO for the Coca Cola company. But as long as I enjoy it, and as long as my health permits, it’s no sweat for me. People have a lot of addictions, alcohol, tobacco, so on and so forth. Mine is more of a fascination, and even if it is an addiction, it’s a harmless one at that.
