~* Meditation upon a bottle of coke*~

That dark sugary liquid,

Whose colour is of the night.

Those bubbles of carbon dioxide,

Which give me such delight.

Its intensifies that velocity,

With all the energy it does contain.

And to think of life with out it,

Gives an addict mental pain.

But addiction is a bad thing

Remember: smoking kills

Sorry, I just needed a rhyme

To show off my poetic skills ;)

The drink evokes magic

Have you ever wondered how?

This nursery rhyme is getting tedious

I think I’ll shut up now :)

For all those who are a little befuddled with my title, I’m not talking about sitting cross-legged in a lotus position on a plastic container (which would be rather uncomfortable). There is another definition of meditation…want to know it? I think I’ll tell you anyway (it is, after all, highly relevant to the topic ;) – “A contemplative discourse, usually on a religious or philosophical subject.”

I am here to meditate on coke (yes, because I worship it with my heart and soul. I have a shrine devoted to it, where I perform puja to it every morning and evening).

Coca-cola is a glorious invention. And a ver cunning one too. So cunning, that you could shake a fish at it and call it Stanley (or is that Steven?)

The satisfaction given by a sip of it is so great. When the day is gloomy and the spirits are down, just call upon this sugary black liquid and it will improve you mood by miles. I often end up thinking that my little town of nowhere is my Paris, and my glass of coke is champagne…

It is also a healthier social option. Much preferred to alcohol and smoking. Have all the satisfaction with out the hangover, I guess…Come parties, come more coke! Everyone has coke at their houses. So if you’re addicted to it, there is no problem! (um…concerning mental health that is)

And what can I say about the coke adverts? Aamir Khan started a legacy with his Thanda ads…right from giving thirsty kudis bottles in the middle of a field…and the paanch matlab chota coke one as well :) As well as them, they also have Aishwaria and Vivek and Hrithik as brand ambassadors…Yes, I know that Pepsi has many more (including SRK, Mr Bacchan and various cricketers). And even if you adore Kareena Kapoor and want to increase your snob value by consuming the same liquid as her, just remember that Coke is the queen of all drinks. Or king, if you prefer to say that. But I’m a feminist.

If you very foolishly have never heard of coke (what planet are you from??) then I’ll explain what it is. It is a black sugary fizzy drink. The brand name is written in a very stylish bold font. And the trade-make red colour makes it stand out from all the rest. It is available in different capacities and containers. The company was founded in 1886. “It is a major manufacturer and distributor of non-alcoholic beverages and syrups, used to produce nearly 400 beverage brands.” And if you seriously want to know more go on the website (I bet you’ll never guess what it’s called)!

And I’m ver sorry if I’ve offended any plastic-phobhics with my bottle title – there’s no need to worry! Coke is available in metal cans as well!!! And glass bottles!!!

I swear I’ve forgotten sumthing……..ah yes! A warning to all things sensible yet senseless: do not drink coke! It is ver ver bad for your health! I’m sure you all must have received a forward telling you about how coke can be used to clean your toilet, etc, etc. and that swallowing carbon dioxide is bad Cheers! raises bottle of coke

The last bit does contradict the greater meaning of my review, but I do give a…I mean care about the health and safety of fellow people.
