Coca cola, one of the most famous carbonated drinks in the world- thanks to the great marketing skills of the US company and the power of advertising- owes its origins to the USA .
This American product is arguably the original caffeinated soda but in these increasingly health conscious times, it is by no means the ideal drink for those people who are concerned about maintaining a healthy life style. Whilst chilled Coca cola may be refreshing on a hot summers day- but a cup of Darjeeling or Earl Grey tea is still more refreshing and a lot healthier-it is pumping caffeine and carbon dioxide into your system. Like those addicted to coffee, coke addicts will be paying a high price for their addiction.
Frankly, I do like any of the carbonated drinks, I much prefer natural fruit drinks or a lovely Indian lasse, yoghourt drink or refreshing cup of tea. Coke may be a cool drink among the young but for this old timer it is not a preferred drink. It is full of sugar and has a low nutritional value. Whilst occasionally I may weaken and have a glass of Coca Cola, I never try to take it regularly. It thus does not get a recommendation from me and my advice is to stick to natural fruit juices or to tea !
