I had been to the one on Church street about 3 years back and loved it. Keeping that in mind, I suggested to my family ( dad, mom, wife and Sis) that we have our Onam Sadhya there this year. Called them twice the day before Onam. they refused advance booking stating that they have lots of tables available and we can come over and will get a table easily.Spoke to a certain John.
Reached there about 1:30 pm on Onam day ( 29th August). Place was crowded with people, lots of people standing outside waiting to enter. Took a token for Rs 500 per head, so thats Rs 2500 for all of us put together. Waited for about half hour and were told to enter " Car Parking"!!! which was converted to a dining area with god knows how many tables and chairs. place was crammed and poor ventilation. Looked right out of a low llevel, cost effective affair. Hundreds of people fighting for tables, standing in queues to pick up food ( buffet).
Stood in line , got the food and had the shock of our lives when we tasted it. It by far was the worst kerala food I have tasted in my life. Same comments from all of us in the family and many who ate out there.
Basically, a very sad and badly managed occasion by the staff who clearly overcharged us. Imagine rs 500 for eating at the car park and that too food that was not at all tasty. Very deeply disappointed with it , though I must say that when I did go a few years back on a normal day, I really loved it.
Being an optmistic person, I hope they see this and call us back and provide us lunch on the house to make up for messing up our Onam
