Whiteness is to Teeth like Beauty is to a Woman .Sitting in your plush Sofa in a Plush Apartment watching Television in a Sony Dolby Home Theatre on a nice cold Winter morning with a Clean piece of a Neem Branch in your mouth. How Does it Feel buddies !!!
Toothpaste has become an essential Part of our everyday lives. Teeth are a very important part of our body akin to other parts. Negligence to these pearly beauties could not only cause pain but could also affect other parts to your body and most important your fragile mood.
Toothpaste – A Trip to its origin
The origin of Toothpaste was … hold your breath in India and China around 300 BC. The Egyptians then used a powder with some exotic items like Burnt hooves of Oxen and Burnt Egg Shells. The Romans and Greeks are the ones who Glorified the Toothpaste followed then by the Persians using Dried Animal Skin and Herbs which include Myrrh about which you will know later in this review.
The Brits then developed a version of the modern day toothpaste in a powder form which was to be used with ones Fingers. Then later research has developed the Toothbrush which is like a hammer to a nail. In Modern Day we need to use the Toothbrush to spread the toothpaste around our lovely mouths.
Colgate Palmolive India Ltd
Colgate has been a pioneer in toothpastes and the powder form of Toothpowder mentioned above was marketed by none another by this company. This company has relentlessly continued its research to come up with the kind of high class Toothpaste which we use.
I remember as a kid using the White and Red Tube with a Clear white toothpaste ( now I am sounding old huh !!! ). Well I don’t think people don’t use that at all , we have toothpastes in various Colours like Blue , Red , Sparkling Red, Green … GREEN . Yes now I come to the point huh ..
Herbal Toothpaste
Initilally In India Colgate introduced a Herbal Toothpaste with Neem, Tulsi, Laung and Pudina. For some surprising reasons they discontinued the same and introduced the Globally used Herbal Toothpaste with exotic herbs, including Chamomile, Sage, Eucalyptus and Myrrh.
I used to like the Indianised Version and annoyingly purchased the ALL NEW Herbal Toothpaste with the Herbs mentioned above and … I liked it. It had a Fresh colour of Green Stripes on a White Background. A Fresh new Taste which lingers for quite some time and says a very nice “ Bon Matin , Gutten Morgen , Good morning ” to you. I felt a Change in this Toothpaste. It had a very homely and natural feeling due to the Presence of the Herbs. The surprise packet in this toothpaste is the use of Eucalyptus which gives an exotic taste and Fragrance to it.
Lets now Look into how these Herbs which jointly help to soothe oral ailments as toothaches, mouth ulcers and gum sores individually help find their place in this Toothpaste.
Myrrh
The gum or resin from the Stem of the Myrrh Tree is used in Toothpastes, Tooth powders and Mouthwashes. IT helps soothe ulcerated throats and helps Strengthens the Gums.
Chamomile
This herb is well renowned by the Ancient Egyptians and British . The German Chamomile used in this toothpaste is bitter in taste and has a strong odour. This is used to impart Freshness in the paste apart from being medicinal by itself.
Sage
This sagely herb is not uncommon to English Kitchens and also used in America. Popularized by Simon and Garfunkel in their Album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme this herb controls Gingivitis and is used to treat bleeding gums and many mouth disorders.
Eucalyptus
This oil largely famous in India is used as a Stimulant but here its used due to its antiseptic properties and for that …as I said earlier .. Good morning Flavor..
