Collabera Caveat Emptor

Having recently been through the interview/offer process, the following are observations.

  1. Their process requires speaking with several people with Indian surnames about very esoteric questions. There’s nearly no substance, the main HR Manager interview will occur by phone between 30 minutes and 2 hours behind when it was scheduled.  The process will move at one of two speeds: Slow or full-stop.

  2. You’ll be asked for more and more screenings, never be informed why, who the individuals are, or where the process is headed. If your role is to work for the Consulting Division directly(not the Staff-Augement side, there’s a difference), the only way to gain clarity is agree when they can explain the "who and why". Then you’ll get someone jumping in that might be able to answer the questions, although it won’t speed the process.

  3. You’ll go weeks at a time without hearing anything. There is no sense of urgency, and their corporate HR is comically poor. They will not communicate with you unless you insist on statuses.

  4. You’ll get an offer, be asked to sign acceptance, and receive no detail about benefits or other information. It requires pressing this issue as well to finally have someone send PDF’s and a summary Word document, which apparently took some doing.

  5. The consulting division will point the finger at the Corporate HR and say "we’re different", which is disingenuous at best. Meanwhile, Corporate HR will point back to the Consulting side. Progress goes nowhere quickly.

  6. Since they don’t communicate information, I had personal emergency prior to my start date. My offer was quickly rescinded in such an unprofessional manner that it gave a very glaring indication that this was not the type of organization that values experience and talent. The walk down the aisle was fraught with red flags, so the marriage was bound to be somewhat rocky as well.

In short, it’s clear that they’re disorganized, rather clumsy and unprofessional at handling senior-level candidates. I do not  recommend dealing with them, their handling of what should have been a very organized on-boarding process was completely unprofessional at best, ridiculous and incompetent being more honest.
