College of dental sciences, DAVANGERE....my alma matter in which I have great pride...is without doubt one of the finest college of its field in india..though a bit new in comparison to other college(1992) it has gained immense respect of faculty, students and patients also..
After passing out from there and working with another dental college made me realized what all the things my college was providing me which I never cared for ..wow what a life, what pressure of studies and equally good fun...the only thing which I found a bit offensive in this whole system of davangere colleges is their prejudice about northindians..which the oldi proffs of medical and dental think are utter useless and filmi heros.
It hurted a few guys but all in all benefits are more than problems, college provided great infra structure, nice hostels and well qualified faculty, cultural activites and sports were also promoted under the banner of event vivid and orientation day. boys hostel are around half a kilometer away from college and girls hostel was 1 km..but there were buses to ferry girls from their.hostel provide nice rooms and facility like table tennis room, gym, badminton court, tv room , mess hall etc but no attached toilet.but it was fun..
So all in all great college with a minor problem on language for outsiders but dont worry its not very hard to learn.. number of patients in cods is far better than bapuji and bapuji emphasise much on discipline and interference in personal life of a student..i guess getting into personal life of a student was the only fun a few professor’s have in their life.....but we tend to neglect them by understanding his problems as a loner and looser ....rest be assured it is a amazing college
