I have lived in Colorado since 1956.Though I have left several times swearing never to return, I always come back.I was raised in Cortez, Colorado. It sits right in the middle of a lot of tourist traps full of fun places to visit.
From Cortez you can see the beautiful rocky mountains on one side and the desert on the other side.Theres the Ute reservation that now has The Ute Casino. Ive lost many dollars there and even won a few.
On the other side of Cortez there is Mesa Verde National Park. Its famous for the Indian ruins. In the last couple of years they have had two bad fires there. It was not a total loss as they also discovered more Indian ruins that hadnt been discovered yet.
I moved here in Pueblo two years ago.Pueblo is the home of the State Fair.I got to work at the fair last year for two weeks and it was a lot of fun.I even got to see the Dallas Cowgirls when they appeared at the fair.It was said that there were over 50, 000 people that visited the state fair last year.
Also last year they also completed the river walk. Its in the old part of downtown. It sits all along the old railroad station. They refurbished many of the old buildings in that part of town too. There are great little places to eat while sitting outside under a big umbrella. The old part of downtown Pueblo is now very pretty to the eyes.My favorite thing is the big water fountain.
There is also a petting zoo here, two collages, a huge golf course and many other things to do.Me, myself rarely leaves the house but when I am in the mood to go out and have some fun I go to the park and feed the squirrels. There are also many great places here to go out to eat, most to which Ive been.
Would I recommend Colorado to a friend? You bet I would, everyone should see its beauty at least once.
