My sister had been admitted to the hospital for CA rectum. before the sugery all the tests and scan had been done. in the CT scan/ultra sound done, cyst in ovaries and fiberoid had been detected and the report copy was given during the discharge of the patient after the CA rectum surgery.
After four months of surgery, stomach was expanded and breathlessness developed, and the patient had to again approach the hospital for emergency treatment. then the doctors informed that stomach was filled with the fluid from the ovaries and immediate surgery had to be done.
Had the doctors not ignored the earlier scan reports/ultra sound findings, the patient need not have undergone so many physical and financial troubles. (the hospital expenses went upto lakhs and lakhs). the family and the patient has sufferred such a metal agony and financial difficulty. I feel that the scan reports has to be given to the patients before the surgery so that they will be aware of what are all wrong with them. now even a lay man asks why the ovaries and utreus had not been remove when the rectum surgery was done, .
