Best movie in this month

The super fit kick-ass action hero the brawny Vidyut Jamwal is back in letting his strong arms and exceptional Kalaropayettu skills in those man to man combat do most of the talking in the second installment of the profit making COMMANDO(2013).

Actor turned director Deven Bhojani known for helming television comedies like’Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai’, Sumit Sambhal Lega’ gets into the action mode to helm this escapist pop corn thriller.

COMMANDO 2 MOVIE STILLS

The director applies a straight-forward action oriented approach in COMMANDO 2: THE BLACK MONEY TRAIL and fails to raise the bar of the action genre but manages to please the diehard action junkies by its entertaining action.

The writers Suresh Nair and Ritesh Shah have nothing new to offer in this story where we see Vidyut Jammwal returning as Captain Karanvir Singh the elite Special Operation Commando who crashed into the Chinese territory last time, this time lands in Malaysia to bring in the leader of an international money laundering ring to India. A team is formed that consists of a dutiful cop Bhaktawar(Freddy Daruwala), a bulbul Pandey in Bhavna Reddy(Adah Sharma) in that on and off over the top Hyderabadi accent and a hacker.

A certain Vicky Chaddha has to be nabbed and brought back to India from Malaysia as he is the one who controls the operation and transactions of the black market syndicate. Vicky Chadda’s gorgeous wife Maria( Esha Gupta) has a mystery that surrounds the whole scenario.

A complete no brainer and escapist to the core script has some twists and turns to keep the junkies and nerds busy while those looking for an iota of logic behind this most simplified attempt to bring black money back to India, will cringe and wonder.

While Vidyut Jamwal expertly and skillfully sets up most of the narrative and does a fabulous job as an action hero. His acting however is strictly okay.

Esha Gupta as the femme fatale is impressive. Adah Sharma dim wit character backfires as it fails to provide the comic relief( this must be the only reason the writers decided to characterize Adah in giving her the chance to provide the comic relief from the dishoom dishoom and crack bang dhoom), she tries at her level best but it doesn’t works out to the fullest. Shefali Chaya as the home minister is competent.

The best thing that Deven Bhojani does in this escapist pop corn action is that he keeps the pace moving and avoids songs that helps in maintaining the interest level of the nerds and junkies of this genre.

Production values are good and technicalities.

If you are an action junkie and looking for an action glory without minding much about the story then COMMANDO 2: THE BLACK MONEY TRAIL kicks some butts of an escapist pop corn fun.
