Commando 2 is an action-thriller and it is the sequel to the original Commando movie, which also starred Vidyut Jammwal as Commando. Commando 2 plot revolves around a team headed by Karanvir Singh Dogra(Vidyut Jamwal) and consisting of ACP Bakhtawar(Freddy Daruwala) Bhavana Reddy(Adah Sharma) and Zafar going on a mission to bring money launderer Vicky Chadda from Malaysia. This is a movie which should be definitely watched in theatres, for the simple reason that the action looks even more spectacular on a big screen. Don’t miss even the first few seconds of Commando 2 as the movie starts with action! So reach the theatres early. This movie is a must watch for many reasons.
(1) The biggest reason is the action of Vidyut Jamwal. This kind of action U have never seen and will never get to see, it is spectacular. The way Vidyut moves with grace as he overcomes obstacles using his skills in parkour, martial arts is marvelous! The first 10 minutes of the movie will get U spellbound and the movie will not bore your even a single second. That is the best factor about Commando 2 movie. There surely is the suspense as to what is going to happen next and let me tell you this movie will keep you gripped till the end. There is an in-between sequence of airtrekkers doing action and that will get you totally hypnotised. Trust me, this sort of action, you will never have seen on the big screen. Vidyut fights the goons with perfection and special credits to the south african’Pyranha’ team who did a marvelous job in doing the action sequences which were mostly shot in Thailand. There is a sequence in between where Vidyut runs through a market place and that whole scene is a must-watch. I wonder how he manages to do such a stunning action. Next favourite stunt sequence is the finale action sequence. It is solid action sequence and the moves will keep you so gripped. Rather than giving any spoilers, I will suggest that you watch the movie to know how it is and you must make sure to watch it in the theatres to get the full feel of the action with the sound fx.
(2) Yet another important reason to watch Commando 2 is the beauty of the locations. The locations are so beautiful that they will make you breathless. The beauty of Thailand is beautifully captured in Commando2 whether its the long winding roads, tall standing buildings or the beautiful green locales as the Commando takes a ride on his bike with the ladylove Bhavana Reddy. Yet another beautiful location is for the song’Tere Dil Mein’ shot in Ladakh and it is a beautiful location which matches with the feel of the song. A special credit to those who chose the beautiful locations for filming Commando 2. The photography of the movie is amazing.
(3) Adah Sharma does her part nicely, Freddy Daruwala is convincing in his part, Esha Gupta has acted her part beautifully. Anoop Singh Thakur has a role which lies low in the start but shines towards the end of the movie. He has done his part with perfection. The actor who did the role of Zafar is fabulous, I loved the emotional conversation he has with Commando! Adil Hussain does his part with perfection. A special mention to Shefali Shah in the role of Home Minister, she does it beautifully! Satish Shah has a short but noteworthy role. The unnamed stuntsmen who have performed beautifully including the Pyranha stunts team are marvelous! Hats off to them and Vidyut Jamwal himself to make the action scenes so perfect and beautiful. Action choreography by Franz Spillhaus is superb. Vidyut Jamwal has choreographed his own stunts and I don’t have words to express my admiration for this man. You will never get to see such a wonderful martial artist, action hero in the future too. He is the best whether it is action or romance. A hero to watch out for in the future too. Rightly he is termed as the’New Age Action Hero of Bollywood’ and’Real Action God’. He does his stunts without any cable wires or help of any body doubles and my full admiration for this man who has a brave heart and the risks he takes in the movie only a brave Commando can do in real life. Vidyut Jamwal is a Commando at heart on reel as well as in real.
(4) The songs of Commando 2 deserve a special mention. The list of songs start with’Hare Krishna Hare Ram’ with a funky rap in the start and then it moves on to a sizzling dance number and to watch the leading characters Vidyut, Adah, Esha and Freddy dance with the dancers is a delight to watch. Vidyut dances with equal grace as he does his action. This man has a body that moves and grooves beautifully and would love to see him dance more. The recreation of’Hare Krishna Hare Ram’ is beautifully composed track. The second track’Tere Dil Mein’ has soulful lyrics penned by Kumaar and has lovely music by Mannan Shah and sung by Armaan Mallik. Mannan Shah was the composer of the original Commando movie too.’Tere Dil Mein’ is a track that fills the heart will romance and perfect for those in love. There is a club mix of’Tere Dil Mein’ which I feel has even more beautiful lyrics and the video is perfect with a few dance moves by Vidyut and Adah. This track is a must watch shot in the beautiful Ladakh. Next track is a very emotional one which has lyrics that touch the heart.the song name is’Seedha Saadha’ and it is a truly beautiful track which pulls at our heart strings. My favourite track undoubtedly is the Commando title track which has the power, passion and the lyrics are perfect for Commando as well as for Vidyut himself. Wo aa gaya hai, aane se jiske sabne kaha hai, U just cannot mess with this Commando. This is the best track of Commando 2 and will become an instant favourite due to its catchy lyrics and music. Overall all the songs of Commando 2 deserves a full score.
In entirety, Commando 2 is a movie that enjoyed watching on the big screen. The biggest reason for my watching Commando 2 is Vidyut Jammwal. I can’t say I’m a huge lover of action flicks, but seeing Vidyut Jamwal in action surely is a delight. Vidyut Jammwal is an action hero to look out to in the future too. Our desi James Bond, Brucelee, whatever references he is given. Definitely with regard to action, Vidyut Jamwal is incomparable with any of the action heroes of the past or present. He is one of a kind and for Vidyut Jamwal and to see his spectacular action definitely go and watch Commando 2 in the theatres. Commando 2 definitely is the best action flick of 2017.
