Ok I was very glad to see a topic on this, I was going to hold writing this for several reasons and I hope that MS will let me publish this and give me the benefit of the doubt if in any case what I cover is not accepted I will delete it, but I think in this case most of the people who read my reviews will give me the benefit of the doubt.
I am actually going to a couple of things in this review introduce myself and talk about commenting, the abusive side of commenting specifically, how it hurts good writers and in my case how abusive comments can lead to harassment and spam.
I am Chris James and I have been writing for well over 3 years on another website
I was close to 218 reviews I was praised by the community I also received praise on my comments because I am a guy who tells things like it is as one member Sordid-1 told me:

And I?m sorry these people keep picking on you. I am appalled that some of these Epnions so-called Advisors(and racists!) are daring to give you a hard time over your choices.the racist Epinons Advisors and assorted intrepits have even broached that subject with an indelicate and abrasive attitude. Now then you might say to yourself wow that was a great comment on myself
but what is Sordid referring about racists advisor and members who harass?
Well on this site I was publishing reviews and getting praise however a couple
of abusive members on the site for whatever reason(possible for my race)
starting targeting leaving one hateful comment after the other. In many cases, these members like one member named Proxam, MissKitty, Kieli Bailey, Dave_Uk and otherS saw it fit to leave flaming comments on my reviews.
A’flaming comment’ is essentially a spam comment. A comment that someone
leaves for the sole purpose of attacking a critic, it serves to stir up hatred and
slander that persons reputation. It is the negative side of commenting.
When I reported this abuse, to my disgust the website did nothing about instead
they deactived my account so people could not see the abuse going on.
During one instance several members left several hateful comments in my section:
in fact one user verbally admitted she liked spamming across my reviews in my
guestbook:

Hmmm.what to do today, what to do. It only took about one and a half hours yesterday to leave a comment in most of your reviews; I’m sure I can find the time again today. In fact, I’m positive. Let me ask my boss first, though.
Hey, Marcy - that same guy just couldn’t leave it be, after he offered a truce; do you mind if I take back up where we left off?
Not at all, Marcy - knock yourself out.

As you can see this users were so abusive that they blatantly and verbally showed how they liked to use my comment section to delibaretely leave one hurtful comment
after another.’
So where I am going with this is I am showing you just how abusive and damaging
a comment can be. If you have a dispute with someone you ask them politely
for some sort of agreement you do not bash a critic, call him nasty words
using profanity in his names. Comments are not used for that purpose
, they are used to convey constructive criticism and insight as illustrated here by
a user who read a review I did on James Dean in’Rebel Without A Cause’:

I am the type of critic who does him homework before I write so I know when I post
a review a comment that I receive will generally be a good one complementing
on my work and perhaps pointing out something I need to work one. In the worst scenario something like the above will happen, someone will abuse the comment or guestbook to attack me verbally. It is really annoying and disgusting. The benefit of this is that you see how extremely abusive this
other person is.
You see that this user is not a critic but a person that needs to be removed,
reprimanded and possible arrested.
I say that because even after I reported the abusive comments I received several
hate emails for doing so in fact today I still received hate emails for doing
the right thing including one I received today from Andrew Brown and Nick
Howard, 2 abusive members from the website I just mentioned:

As you can see the abuse that comes from leaving a hurtful abusive comments
goes beyond the lack of taste and showing the true ignorance of many
individuals.
Even more surprising is when one website in order to keep this abuse secret takes the disgusting steps to remove the user doing the complain by deactiving his account which is what happened in my case. In fact it did not stop there as I joined several other British consumer sites they same thing happened because the users I mentioned had an undying vindictivess that I have never seen. Before I joined Mouthshout in fact, I search for these users before joining since I knew again I would be targeted by these individuals.
Joyfully they are not.
I hope MouthShut keeps me on as a user because I really have so much to give
to this site. I have met some genuinely caring people- Optimistic_Analysis, Critical_Analysis_, Rosea.
In fact Critical_Analysis was one person who read my history and gave me the benefit of the doubt that I would not receive any abuse on MS.
I hope that is the case and I hope that Mouthshout will have me on here.
I also hope that anyone who has read my reviews and thinks of leaving
a hurtful comment will think twice before doing so.
That is all I have to say and I hope when I come online I will still have a place
here on MS to share my thoughts and great reviews with.

PS: The site I mentioned despite their attempts to silence are now undergoing
legal action, my complaint is only the tip of the icebergs of complaints this
site has gotten for not abusive comments but harassment and spam.
