Company is directed by one of the best and worst film-makers: Ram Gopal Verma. Ram Gopal Verma has made some brilliant flicks like: Satya, Rangeela and now Company; but he has also made horrid flops like Mast and Kaun.
But this movie is another one of his best. This flick stars Ajay Devgun (fab actor), Manisha who looks gorg and is a great actress at the same time; along with the debutant Vivek Oberoi.
The movie is similar to Satya. It is based upon a boy who falls in bad Company and joins Ajay Devgun and others including Manisha who are gangsters. As soon as Vivek Oberoi joins the gang, everything goes right for him and the gang...and boy does Vivek have the attitude..o yeah!
The story unfolds and shows how the gang do their dirty work, and how the police are trying to catch them in their little traps but keep failing as the whole gang are ten steps ahead of them. Until tension builds up between the gang members and most importantly Vivek and Ajay.
Where is the typical bollywood bit, you ask? Well Manisha slips up and makes the final step towards the separation of Vivek and Ajay; but she takes the wrong end of the situation!! (did I see that coming?........................the answer is yes!)
Anyways the story carries on and Vivek ends up helping the police to get their tired hands on Ajay, but before they do it seems that one of Viveks friend reaches there before the police and kills him. Khallas!... The company is finished.
One thing that I did not know was that this story was apparently true...which was cool in a way; as I have seen a lot of English/ American movies that have a true storyline but hardly seen an Indian movie like this. Another good point that I noticed was that the story is really long, so it was cut into bits and through-out the movie there is a narrator who explains things that were taking place in-between and how minor factors effected the companys strength.
Overall, the acting was brilliant by both Ajay and Manisha, but one must say that Vivek did steal the show away- and was really good for a debutant. Khallas to all the other new-comers this year thats for sure!!
The flick hardly has any songs, apart from one which is if you have not realised by my clues...Khallas. This song is sung very well by Asha Bhosle and gives you the exact scene of a club, which is hauntingly fun.
The movie is well directed, and the promos of the movie (especially the one with all the telephones going off) are really good and different.
I was not disappointed by watching this flick, as it is different and pretty good too. But it is not something that I will watch as many times as Satya; but if its on then I will not turn my back on it either! ...yes I know Iam confusing!
So what do you think of it...because I think that its ummm...... KHALLAS!!!
