Hello, Watched Ram gopal verma’s Company yesterday. Sure it’s not as hard hitting as Satya but still it has some stuff that glues you to the screen.
Company is a story about chandu(Vivek Oberoi) who is a slum boy and how he becomes right hand of Malik(played by Ajay Devgan) and together they grow and form a company and fly abroad and control the underworld of Mumbai from there. Because of some misunderstanding , conflicts arise between Malik and chandu and they become enemies of each other. Mumbai Police Commisioner(played by Mohan Lal) with the help of Chandu tries to solve the problems but fails to arrest Malik who is latter killed by friend of chandu in Hongkong. Chandu gets arrested and has to spend his latter life in the Jail. The first half of the film is excellently shot and people get glued to the screen. It’s in the second half that people begun to loose their concentration as they don’t get the expected conflict between the two dons.
About the performances, Vivek oberoi as Chandu is good, we can expect more meaty performances from him in the forthcoming films. Ajay Devgan acts excellently as cold blooded Malik . Manisha koirala has nothing to play. The new girl has acted good, Seema vishwas as chandus mother has also acted well. But it’s excellent cinematography, and the background score (Sab ganda hai par dhanda hai yeh) steal the show.
Overall Company is a good attempt by Ramgopal Verma and he takes us one step ahead of Satya. Sure , it’s worth the bucks you spend. I can rate is at
