Once you are in , there is no way out. There is definitely quick money, but no security till the day you die a stray dogs death.Thats the moral of COMPANY, the movie.Well it was the moral of SATYA too, but then if really go to see, COMPANY is the extension of SATYA.
A local goon CHANDU(Oberoi) is hired by MALIK(Devgan)who manages to rule the roost of mumbais underworld and these guys further go on to become international dons. The goondagiri business is carried on like an ordinary company business , from the delegation of authority to actual key result areas and profit motives, with telecommunications playing a vital role in the whole film.Due to a certain misunderstanding, tha two part ways on a bitter note and thus starts a war between the loyal chelas of MALIK and CHANDU.
The film aptly depicts the sordid connections between the Underworld on one hand and Politics and Bollywood on the other., which is as close to reality as what you read daily in the newspapers.Packed with outstanding performances, the film manages to put forward the message it intends to portray.COMPANY is well directed, snazzily shot, slickly edited with a gripping background score.
The newcomer Oberoi manages to hold his own against the other veteran actors.Antara Mali who plays CHANDUS girl friend also manages to impress.Devgan with his brooding eyes delivers a power packed performance.the only drawback is the acting of south superstar MOHANLAL who plays the police chief.he disappoints his loyal fans with some pretty mediocre acting.
What really impressed me is that -unlike SATYA- there are no cusswords in the film apart from the average C-grade gaalis which even your dog wont be embarrassed about. All in all dont expect a repeat of SATYA and u will come leave the cinema hall satisfied.
