Initially, Ram Gopal Varmas Company was not supposed to have any songs at all. Ramu wanted to move into Hollywood direction where they only have background music in the movie or if there are any soundtrack, they are played in a way that they dont stop the flow of the movie. Good thought but after the smashing success of Kambakth Ishq in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya Ramu had second thoughts and he asked Sandeep Chowta, who was to compose the background music for the film, to compose regular songs as well. Sandeep hasnt done a bad job! Since, Companys all about underworld, as was Ramus Satya, one is tend to compare the music of Company with that of Satya. Lets do a track by track analysis of Companys songs. Khallas - by Asha Bhosle, Sudesh Bhosle & Sapna Awasthi is a fast track and Sudesh Bhosles voice manipulation reminds one of R.D. Burmans Yammah Yamaah... in Shaan. Lyrics by Nitin Raikwar is okay and comes in Chhalu category. This song is repeated in the album as a remix track. Expect to see Khallas on your TV channels countdown. Tumse Kitna - sung by Altaf Raja somehow remind us of other songs sung by Altaf Raja(He has got to take a break). Its a love song, hence the music given is fairly good but lyrics do not go along with the playback, which happens to be a negative marking for the song. The tune reminds us of Dil ke arman by Salma Aga. Pyar Pyar Mein - sung by Sonali Vajpayee and Babul Surpriyo is easy on ears. Babul Supriyo sounds like Kumar Sanu. Written to be a love song this one should appeal to those struck by cupids arrow. Aankhon Mein is a soft and slow number. Its on the same line with Ram Gopals Pyaar ye jaane kaisa hai... of Rangeela. Sowmya Rao has rendered this song quite nicely and those who like to hear slow numbers should like this one. Ganda Hai - a song which Sandeep Chowta has rendered himself is quite different from the ordinary (doesnt necessarily means that its good as well). Jaideep Sahni has penned the lyrics for this one but loud music makes it harder to listen to it. A shot of company - Shh.... koi hai! this is what A shot has to say. The theme creates an atmosphere of suspense with thrilling effects. The presentation of music is very graphical. Malik Soul - A shot of company Malik soul is an instrumental and the reflections of Bombays instrumental can be felt on it. Overall, the album of Company is worth buying.
