Correct me if I am wrong... But is the review for the desktop or for the laptop? The Compaq 1600il desktop series are the latest... Why does Mouthshut want to review on legacy laptops such as the 1683 in the first place?
Anyways, the information for the 1680 series of laptops are below

Its a 200 Mhz processor with a 2.1 GB hard disk and 32 MB of RAM (Upgradable to 96 MB..) Need I say more? (Review?)
Mouthshut should remove this considering that this is a very old model. It is very likely that someone has forgotten to remove the link after first posting..
However one thing is for certain. HP support is the best when compared to Dell or any other. The fact that they are GD Powers certified speaks volumes for the support. They offer a free 90 day phone support and a lifetime chat and email assisted support. Dell earlier provided only a 30 day warranty after which any form would mean you need to pay for it. In fact the extended warranty is compulsory otherwise you might end up with defective hardware after the 30 days ( The period after 30 days to the first 6 months are when you have the most complaints)
But Mouthshut should remove the posting considering how far the technologies have progressed.
Right now if you intend to go in for the purchase of a laptop, ensure that you opt for a 17 inch screen, with a dedicated video card. Also with HP/Compaq series I recommend you to opt for the Lightscribe DVD writers. You can actually burn images on the top side in grey scale instead of writing with one of those CD marker pens..
