My first computer was a Compaq - I believe it was a 2350 but can’t remember for sure. I had it for 2 years and then started having problems with it. Immediately, not being able to survive without a computer - I called and ordered a new one ... a Compaq 7000x series.
Within a couple of hours of using the new computer, I decided that I hated it. Though the set up itself was nice and it had an easy touch keyboard - it kept disconnecting me from the net for no reason at all.
I remembered that my brother and sister-in-law had, not too long before - gotten a new computer. I called to see what type they had and to my surprise, it was the exact same one that I had just purchased. Since they got their computer, they had been complaining about frequently getting disconnected from the net and so it came as no surprise to me that I did also once I found that we had the same type of computer.
Upon further investigation (doing an online research at a site such as this), I found that this was a common problem with the Compaq 7000 series. I kept the computer for 2 days before returning it and had to call customer service in the meantime. They were NOT helpful at all and also had no toll free number for tech support, which for me -is a must have.
I would not recommend a Compaq 7000 Series computer to anyone who does not have a high tolerance level for frustration.
