Recently, I had been running hard to find myself a good powerful notebook for my educational needs which had the flavours of Power, Speed, Wireless, and a worthy DVD Rw+
Walla...It was so hard for me to find one which gave me all what I needed. Ofcourse my top financial limits were 67k. and I needed a decent Note and a Wireless router for me. Went through shops after shops in Trivandrum and Cochin, trying from Sony VAIO, ThinkPad, Toshiba Satellite series to Acer. Finally it was time for Compaq to decide to advertise Compaq V2317AP on Television and Media. It immediately caught my attention, due to its sleek design, specs and the amazing Price Tag.

It was so, so and so hard for me to get this product to Trivandrum, due to unavailability in states with VAT and such heck....I had to call almost 10 times to HP Dealers and literally begged them to get this baby to me!!!!
Finally it arrived in a decent package with a 2000 Rs. worth HP labelled Brand Carry Bag.
Have been using it for 2 months, and felt it to be too amazing. Reasonable speed for any similar class laptop, Takes just 2s to load Adobe Photoshop CS2 with 5000 fonts installed.....Also the wireless is quite powerful, and delivers me sure 54Mbps from a nearby LinkSYS 4port router cum switch. Has a cable modem, and a regular NIC for plugged in needs. Battery stands for almost 3 1/2 hours. The device automatically dims a bit for low power usage. DVD burns at a speed of 8x taking nearly 7 minutes. Still trying to test and tune this brand new headbanging freek.
If you are in need for Power and Network, this one is for you. The display is brilliant for watching movies as well as playing games in free time. Had my round of NFS Most Wanted without flickers!!!! Comes with 80GB HDD and thats more than enough for me.
