Bought Compaq V6608AU laptop around 2 years ago.
Bluetooth didn’t work despite of drivers.
Then LAN port malfunctioned.
It was under warranty so gave for repairs to HP serv centre(Vintech, Pune). to fix these probs. they took 2 months.they said parts are not available.even though the model# was in production.
Worked ok after that.for about 1yr
Now again probs.the BIOS takes 2min to detect HDD n overall performance is slow.
USB keeps popping up some malfunction messages.battery also malfunctioning.
HP guys keep calling for extended service warranty.but its too costly.
So, I will suggest you to go for some high end or Dell laptops.
Or best of all.if you don’t need to roam with laptop then Desktop PCs are the best(performance, vfm, maintenance etc).

The Laptop is not booting now and HP serv centre(Vintech, Pune), have given me an estimate of~20000 to fix it. The original cost was~36000. So you’ll do well to think before buying Compaq(HP).
I can just regret my buy decision.n look for some good laptop repair persons.
