Sir Arthur's best creation: Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is the godfather of all the detective stories I have went through.  Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s creation is the best ever. I got the full collection of Sherlock Holmes as presentation in 2005 and from that day I am a huge fan of Sherlock.

Sherlock Holmes was first published in 1887 in the novel “A study in Scarlet” from that day he became popular and won the heart of people. Each and every story of Holmes consists of full mystery. Holmes with his assistant Dr. Watson has appeared in 60 short stories and 4 novels. Holmes was so popular that in “The Final Problem” Sir Arthur tells that Holmes has fallen from a mountain while fighting with his most cunning enemy Moriaty in 1893 but due to public demand Holmes makes his return in “The Adventure of the Empty House” in 1903 and takes revenge on Moriaty. Holmes calmness, witty mind, huge knowledge on British Law has made him different from others. He has become myth and 221B Baker Street is still a visiting place for them who are visiting London.

In my opinion “The Hounds of the Baskervilles” is the best adventure of Sherlock. That doesn’t mean other stories are not interesting but the atmosphere, its description, horror of something unknown present in that village makes the story extreme fantastic. There may be new detective stories will come with more detailing of case with typical mysteries but Holmes will remain best forever.
