Don't fly continental if you don't eat meat

Continental Airlines does not serve special meals on flights within the U.S., but noone told me or my husband, when we connected from Mexico to a 4 hour flight from Houston to San Francisco. We even chose vegetarian meals when we booked our flight.

They served cheeseburgers and we were told they had no special meals. Tired and hungry, we ended up eating doritos and an apple--the extras with the meal. We didn’t arrive home until 11 pm--we had gone without a proper meal since 1 pm.

When I called customer service to ask them why they had cut special meals, the customer service rep was extremely defensive. She implied that I ended up eating a good dinner nonetheless (because she considers chips dinner). She refused to give us a credit of any kind.

If you cannot eat meat due to religious beliefs, personal beliefs, or allergies, Continental airlines is NOT the airline for you.

Other Cons:

Seats were very hard and my legs became numb. I had to wiggle in my seat to get blood flow going (hard to do in economy class :0 ).

Flight attendant was not very polite. Seemed overworked. Maybe continental airlines should hire more attendants and not stress out the few they have.

Bathroom in airplane broke and people couldn’t use it for most of the flight.

Some Pros:

Counter check in went smoothly. Employees were nice.

Pilot drove smoothly
