Coolie is probably the weakest movie from Lokesh Kanagaraj so far. Even though it’s a Rajinikanth film, it feels like a recycled version of his past works. The plot is highly predictable—you can guess most of the twists before they happen, and the screenplay follows the same template we’ve already seen in his previous movies.
Rajinikanth’s presence is the only reason the film feels watchable at times, but even he can’t fully save it. The action scenes are over-the-top but lack freshness, and the emotional moments don’t really connect. The villain track is also underdeveloped, which makes the story fall flat.
It’s not a complete disaster, but definitely disappointing when you expect something new and powerful from Lokesh. At best, it’s an average watch, but nowhere near the hype.
