I bought Coolpad 2938 Model(Dual SIM) on 1st Feb 2009 with connections CDMA- Reliance and GSM -Airtel. I am disappointed with the model and Coolpad overall. My honest advice to everyone - please dont buy any Coolpad model(not just 2938).
Pros-
Price:- Cheaper than othrs.
Cons-
Hardware Visual:- No glossy finish. Dull appearance. Touchpad screen quality is poor, and attracts dirts. Color contrast of LCD screen is real bad.
Software GUI:- Too slow. Lag can be seen and felt. Though touch screen, but some buttons are so small, that stylus will be required. Many bugs present. e.g. In contact details for address, only 20 letter space is provided.
Battery:- Drains too much battery. Talk time of 3 hours is too less.
Signal Strength:- Though it claims that both CDMA and GSM works fine, but when one is talking on CDMA and someone tries calling on GSM, sometimes he gets to hear that mobile is switched off.
Camera:- Very Poor. After clicking you need to hold for 2 secs and people need to keep the pose for 2 secs for a good photograph. Picture quality is bad.
Mp3 Player:- When you are listening to music, you cant do anything else, i.e. cant make a call/sms/ or browse phone. FM cant be heard on loudspeaker mode without the earpiece(Thats a bug).
WAP:- doesnt work in factory set. Read in forums that need to visit service centre to get it working.
Build quality:- within first week, charger socket pins broke while insertting.
Service Centre:- Visited to get charger replaced. The service centre(outsourced to Accor Electronics) at Cunnigham Road, Bangalore is ill quipped to do anything. They told they cant replace and I need to buy. When I finalized on buying, they didnt have a single spare charger.
