http://www.coolquiz.com If you like doing quizzes then this is a good site to try. The idea is that you collect points for every quiz you do. These cool points as they are called can then be converted into prizes. Once you are registered, as long as you put your name in the Hall of Fame when you finish a quiz, your points are added to your account. You earn 10 points for every question you answer correctly. I have been registered on this site for about three weeks now and I have earned 1200 points. I have to admit that I don’t sit there solidly doing the quizzes though, I keep answering questions in between doing things in other windows. The first prize that you can earn costs 200, 000 points and that is just for a key ring.
There are some really good prizes offered, but you would have to spend a lot of time doing quizzes to achieve them. For 22, 000, 000 points you can have a dvd player. At the rate I am earning points that means it would take me over ten years to get one. If you were to sit there doing just quizzes and nothing else it wouldn’t take quite so long perhaps, but it is still going to take a while to get something good. Other prizes available include hats, bags, t-shirts, mouse pads even a Nintendo Game boy. I take the points and prizes as an added bonus though, the quizzes are really good and the topics wide ranging although it is an American based site so some of the quizzes aren’t always quite what you expect. I tried doing a soap quiz expecting it to be about Coronation Street and Eastenders etc and it turned out to be mainly about Frazier and Seinfield and American based soaps. Same with the cartoon quiz. You can also write your own quizzes though, so I think it may be a good idea to try and devise some English based TV and music quizzes. I like the word quizzes and the picture quizzes. Some of the quizzes are quite amusing such as the geek quiz and the cool quiz. From my results I am not very cool, but then I knew that already, my kids tell me regularly.
There are also polls to take on various subjects and there are cool libs that you can do. These can be quite funny. You fill in missing words in a story, trouble is you don’t know what the story is. I guess you can imagine how some of the stories turn out. I think it’s a nice site although it is a little bit crowded. They should offer better prizes for less points though. Definitely worth a look!
