Recently I booked my accommodation at Bouginvillae/Mahindra Homestays at Coonoor through Makemytrip website. I booked the above homestay after impressed by their advertisement in website about Bouginvillae at Coonoor. But my experience has been quite bad. The place is not known to local and no direct contact number is also given for this home stay. My Booking was for a Premium plan with all meals inclusive namely Lunch/dinner/breakfast. After searching the place in scorching heat, I arrived at the homestay on 28.02.10 at 1.30 PM. The homestay was locked and after knocking various doors, I could locate the Host. There was no caretaker to receive us for check in. To our shock, we were informed that we should have informed them the exact time of arrival. Further they informed that they do not have any all meals Plan and only free breakfast is included. Luckily I had the Hotel voucher with me which state that all meals are included. When same was shown to the Host, they arranged to feed our hungry stomach with as little food as possible.
There is no Car parking/driver refresh facility in the home stay and I was compelled to shift the driver to another lodge.During our stay we have to take care of the Care taker who may and go as per instructions of the Owner and will not bother for you. We managed to get Dinner after crying a lot like baby. We planned to check out on 01.03.10 at 8.30 AM and requested breakfast at 8 AM. We were provided with breakfast at 8.40 AM and could check out at 9 AM. The care taker can be rarely seen unless u are extremely lucky. The Hot water in this Home stay trickles down even to have a Proper bath. Possibly the Homestay do not expect anyone to bathe.
Mahindra Homestays in their website writes so many nice things about the BouginVillae Homestays and take the customers like me for a ride. A mail sent to them regarding the experience has not been responded yet. They have a Toll free Number which u can rarely connect if one has extreme Patience.
Through this forum I would like to warn others by not succumbing to mahindra Homestays website giving false propaganda to make easy money.
