I had the good forturne of working in Coonoor for three years.
These days were spend mostly on visitng nearby tourist attractions mainly accompanying
guests (friends & relatives).
Sims park is a botanical garden and well laid out place.Botanical studnets will have a
field day.Rose garden is an added attraction here.During Summer week long festivity
and exhibition will be conducted in SIMS park same time as the OOTY Summer festival.
Those from the scinece stream can also visit the Pauster Insititue nearby which produces
vaccine for rabbies (only place manufacturing this vaccine in India)
A nice place to stay and is much cheaper than Ooty.
Coonoor is easily accessible from Coimbatore / Mysore.
Those of you interested in seeing tea garden can go to Quill Hill in Coonoor walk down the
Bedford Post Office Road.
Kotagiri is another place near Conoor you should not miss.Enjoy nature from several
view points.
Take a day off to visit Ooty.Travel by the heritage train.Botanical Gardens, Boating, Doddabetta
are important tourist attractions here.

Avoid June-Aug period when you will have heavy rains and landslides.
A Holiday you will definitely enjoy have a different feel and environment.
