Madikeri

Journey to coorg was just about 5 hours, i think this is the most comfortable bus ride(KSRTC) I had ever had in my life, i am used to travelling longer distances, It was a planned weekend trip, our entry into madikeri was at around 5.30 early morning. And there is so much I want to share about it, We stayed at hotel rajdarshan that was the only minus point of our journey we expected such a lot and it was something different about the hotel.Anyways we opted for the double room, which is patethic cause the window faces a blank white wall and is on the ground floor, Its later during the trip we realised that the owner had died and the property was taken over by a relative, there has been lot of mismanagement and lack of enthusiasm form the front office people as well as the house keeping staff, food was never served hot as we tried to avoid travelling late into the city.

Close to our Hotel was St.Micheals Church, it was a sunday and we were glad to celebrate mass there. Then we moved on to the city, Had food at West End Ham was quite good.Later on we travelled to Abby Falls, it is half a kilometer walk from the main road. Also visited Rajas Tomb.Rajas Seat which is stones throw from our hotel.since we travelled to coorg in July rains were expected, but at the same time the area would get covered by mist.Took a lot of snaps around the place, on the second day we purchased a lot of spices and honey also visited the Fort.Another place I would recommend for food is My Choice , The mutton masala was just so yummy, the smell of cooked spices was just lovely.

Later that evening we boarded the bus and returned to Bangalore.

The rating I have given is for the hotel we stayed at.Rest was just wonderful

I would only suggest that people opt for homestays and get your own vehicle if possible. Its good to travel in a group you can visit the near by sites like Nagarahole, Dubbare Forest , Buddist Temple and the Dam.
