Had a great time with our family members.one of the best place to stay and relax.this place is the one I imagine. Medikeri is a town in karnataka stat. India also knows mercara it is head quarters of kodagu district. This is the district head quarters of coorg( kodagu) district of karnataka state in southern India. Its often referred to as the scotland of India. A very beautiful place in deed and is a hil station with mild climate during the summer. The place is small but nice. Full of greenery and pleasant weather.lot of coffee plantation all around and the drive through tiny interior roads is a pleasure.the cold climate and its awesome wildlife was amazing.
Place to see: -
Abbey falls; one of the major tourist attractions near madikeri and rajas seat at the wastern end of madikeri.you can enjoy this place.a wooden bridge here is another attraction.
Golden Temple: -
Its near kushal nagar you can feel like staying in tibet or china as around 5 thousand tibeatians stay here.
Madikeri fort: -
This fort was first built by mudduraja in the last quarter of the 17th century.
Dubare Elephant Camp: - kids will love bathing elephants in the shallow river.the event starts every day at 9.00 am.after that you can feed elephant s.there were a bunch of baby elephants that are.
Raja seat: - This is right town. Go here in the evening enjoy the sun-set here. This place gets crowded in the evenings especially during weekends. There is a nice garden and a small toy train which will take you around for a nominal fees.
Omkareshwara Temple: - Just a stones throw away from the madikeri fort. The omkareshwara temple is like a muslim dargah and has a linga near the door of the entrance. The history of the temple was inscribed by the king on a plate made of copper that is hanging at the frame of the door to the temple entrance. Other place we have visited are Thala kaveri and Thriveni sangam and nagarhole national park. Totally it was a great break. away from city oriented busy routine life.would love to visit this place again with my family to get the experience to them as well.
