This is a nice 4* hotel on an absolute scale but relative to other 4* in Singapore, it comes up short in the following areas:
No complementary bottled water which is provided by others
No DVD player which other 4* also provide in Spore
The money changer in the lobby does not accept INR and there is no ATM nearby
The central AC in the room was set to the min of 18 C but it did not feel as cool as the window AC in our home @ 24 C
The bathtub is freakish - its tiny to begin with so a glass shower cubicle would have been much better like other hotels with small bathrooms.
But it has this weird molded seat type shape on the opposite side of the shower so you cant even stand properly while bathing which is quite uncomfortable!
I had one foot on the raised surface while the other on the floor of the tub.
If the tub is small should only have a level surface to stand on.
Never had this issue in any other hotel EVER!
There is a S$5 charge if you need to book a taxi [which other hotels also charge so its standard practice in the city]
They provide an elaborate pillow menu for you to select from half a dozen types but when we called they were out of all but one type!
Why bother raising expectations if you are unable to meet them?
- There is virtually no space on the table for the room service tray.
When rooms are small either the room service should come with a small table that can be put on the bed or a fold up wall mounted unit should be provided.
On the plus side:
- The lobby was nicer than the avg Singy 4* and the rooms were pretty good though compact
We would rate it as among the best 4* lobbies in the city.
The online photos do it justice [usually reality can be quite different than the promotional images as is the case with Holiday Inn - Atrium]
The LCD was a nice Sharp 26"
The buffet looked very nice but we did not have time to try it out [it got some award from Wine & Dine magazine which we had never heard of but sounded good]
The elevators had doors on both sides [front & back] so it took a little getting used to - we always ended up facing the wrong way and feeling silly!
If you can get a room for around US$100 [Rs. 5 k] + taxes its a decent deal.
Anything more and you have better choices like Holiday Inn etc.
