Cosmo degrades women

Cosmopolitan magazine shows obscenity with its headlines. Standing in a grocery line store, young children read the headlines stating the following: ’’guys sex drive’’, ’’how to sound sexy in the sack’’ or ’’hollywoods biggest bitch’’. It is completely uneccessary for cosmopolitan to publicize headlines like those in places kids of all ages will see.

On the lighter note, indeed cosmopolitan serves as a great refernce for ways for women to pleasure a man, but where are the sections of ways for the man to pleasure the woman? Cosmopolitan supports the patriarchal society of men being the center of attention; the dominant figure. Cosmopolitan should not make women out to be sex slaves for men. The tips in the magazine should go both ways, targeting couples to share the magazine.

Speaking of couples....I do not recall the magazine ever stating that to make sure the person you are having sex with is with someone you love and care for. Is cosmopolitan trying to tell teens and young adults to just have sex with anyone cause it ’’fun’’?

Women are far more better in this world for more than just sex. Cosmopolitan should turn part of their focus telling stories of successful women in the world. I think that since cosmopolitan is supposedly a womens magazine, then they should show all of the strengths that women have. Women are not sex symbols. They work just as hard as men do, and they have needs as well. Cosmopolitan needs to make some changes. Instead of degrading women, cosmo should brag on how women are just as strong and smart as men are.
