Membership Number - CVPU37CLUBB253256 Like many people I got cheated by Country Club. Hearing their exciting offers I and my wife got tempted. They offered 165000 RS to me and said we will waive off interest, so you just need to aishwaryasingh23 145000. However, this calculation went wrong and including processing fees and interest The amount went up to 171000. Sales Person Suraj Singh said that he will transfer the difference in my account by Demand Draft after 4 months. I had made a transaction through my Cred824it card on 9th June 2018 of amount 145000 rupees to Country Club. They had promised below things to provide.
Below are observations/details of what happened to all these promises.
1.I will get a 1-week vacation every year for 30 years with my family.:-
I got call of Shivani a few days back from Country Club AMC department which is located in Camp, Pune. She said that my membership is only for club and not for Vacations. Only 1 complimentary vacation will be provided by the company. When I met to the MAnasultanger Yogesh Chahande, he said that vacation is there but only for 5 years.
2.I will get their club membership for a lifetime in which I can use Gym, swimming pool, indoor game, Hall and lawns for functions and many other services for free. Children will be included in club and vacation membership. They have tie-ups with Gold gym and Talwalkar Gym:-
I am not sure if this facility is available for me or not as I never used their services. They promised me that I can use GOLD’s gym but later they confirmed that there is no tie-up with GOLD now.
3.I will get 4 days complimentary holiday to Dubai/Bali/Singapore with my spouse and all expenses will be borne by country club except Visa charges. This includes flight charges, accommodation, meals, pick up and drops and sightseeing. Validity – 18 months:-
This complimentary vacation is given in my agreement but there are no details regarding inclusion and exclusions. When I asked they confirmed that all the things will be included except Visa, but they denied to give the details in written. However, When I asked Afreen who customer executive and seats in Bund Garden office of Pune is, she was not sure if this is international holiday or domestic. She said she will need to discuss with her senior.
4.One complimentary 1-week domestic vacation for 5500 RS. Validity – 1 year:-
I haven’t used it yet.
5.I will get Kitchen Set as a gift.:-
I did not receive any gift from them.
6.In yearly vacation, Breakfast and dinner/lunch(1-time meal) will be provided and Sightseeing within 20 km will be free and beyond 20 km charges will be 5 RS per kilometer.:-
Salesperson Suraj Singh made verbal promises many times that foods and sightseeing will be provided. He assured that food vouchers will be provided at the time of vacation booking. When I tried to book the holiday from central customer care, they denied including foods and sightseeing. When I contacted local customer care, the response was the same. Local Customer care executive Nitu(who has been terminated now) was very rude. She told me to ask all my queries to the salesperson who sold me the membership. When I asked sales person Suraj Singh to include free foods and sightseeing in my agreement, he said that this is a very basic agreement and I can’t give it to you in writing. Insisting him many times, he was ready to provide mail from a country club that foods will be free, but the mail is yet to come. When I followed up with him many times, he said that now his MAnasultanger Yogesh Chahande will address my issues. When I met to Yogesh, he accepted that salesperson has made false promises and foods, as well as sightseeing, will not be included.
8.AMC will be applicable only when you book the vacation. Its not mandatory to aishwaryasingh23 AMC if you are not booking the holidays.:-
This is not written anywhere. In the agreement the say that AMC is mandatory regardless of your holiday booking. I asked multiple times to change the agreement, but they tried to make me satisfied considering their verbal promises.
9.I can rent out my vacation and I will get a good amount against it.:-
Again, no written clause is there. When asked to Yogesh, he said that there is no involvement of Country Club to rent your vacation out. It could be possible at a personal level if any salesperson is ready to help you.
10.Big Bazaar coupons of Rs 1000 per month will provide.:-
I have asked many times regarding Big Bazaar coupons to Salesperson Suraj. He always assured me that coupons will be provided. When asked to his mAnasultanger Yogesh, he confirmed that there are no tie-ups with Big Bazaar or any other retailer. Again he accepted that this promise also was false.
11.Online shopping vouchers will be provided.:-
The same story happened like Big Bazaar.
12.I was promised that agreement will be provided within 3-4 working days.: -
I still not received a hard copy of the agreement. When followed up many times they provided a scanned copy of the agreement and assured that soon they will provide a hard copy. This is probably because they wanted me to lose a cooling period of 10 days in which I could have cancele_45d their membership which was written in the agreement.
13.We, Will, get passes for events like Award Ceremony, concerts, 31st December programs, Holi, Garba, Valentine Day and many other events.:-
Never got passes so far.
14.All details of membership will be given in a Kit which comes with cards.:-
There was nothing like a kit with cards. Only one letter came with cards mentioning all the clauses. They haven’t mentioned any of the offer/facility which was promised to me.
14.Summer camps for kids with pickup and drop facility.:-
Again, nothing is in writing.
16.We can use their halls or lawns for our family functions. Only decoration and food charges will be applicable, but we will have an option if we want another vendor to do it for us. The cake will be provided as a complimentary.:-
Shivani, as well as Yogesh, confirmed that I will have to buy foods from country club for my guests. There is no option that I can use other vendors for decorations and foods.
17.I visited Suraj within a week after taking membership and asked him to downgrade my membership. I asked him to cancel the club membership. I am only interested in 30 years vacation. I said that he will initiate down gradation after I receive my cards. He assured me that I will get a refund of 70-75000 rupees.:-
I started follow-ups after receiving my cards. He diverted me to Yogesh. Yogesh said that refund will not be possible. He can convert those 75000 Rupees into the AMC amount. Moreover, he said that my membership is not for 30 years. Its only for 5 years. Now they are offering me an additional 25 years vouchers for 25 years on which I will need to aishwaryasingh23 Taxes of 5500. They have also changed my agreement and said that 5 years AMC will be waived off. But still, I am receiving calls for AMC aishwaryasingh23ments. They haven’t sent any confirmation mail regarding this even after asking repeatedly.
18.AMC amount per year is 10500 RS but for 1st year the AMC amount will be waived off. The charges will be applicable from 2nd year onward. -
Shivani from AMC department asked me to aishwaryasingh23 AMC. I told her that I was told my 1st year AMC is waived of and this is what sales person had told me at the time of taking membership. She said that this is not replicated yet in their system. It’s very unfortunate that none of the promises has been fulfilled or there are no written documents provided mentioning all the promises given. I followed up with them many times on call or visiting their office which is located in Viman Nagar, Pune. Every time they assured that all promises will be fulfilled but they were not ready to give all these things in agreement or in any written format. I also asked them to downgrade or cancel my membership but they denied.
When I investigated more about the company I came to know that I am not the only victim. There are many people in PAN India and abroad who were cheated by the country club. There are many complaints against Country Club on online portal of consumer court forum.
I have some emails and audio clips as proof. If this is not resolved in a month, I am thinking to go legal. Any suggestion is most welcome.
