My dad filled p a form in a shopping mall which was given to him saying that if he is a winner of that lucky draw he will get some goodies. And he just filled up the form and within 2 hrs he got a call from the a lady saying he is the (un)lucky winner and needs to attend a presentation of 90 mins coming sunday. My mom said several times to them ova phone that if they r about to sell any sort of policy or membership we r not interested she sed nothing like that and to just attend the seminar.
My parents went there and those people took 3-4 hrs of my parents and with there marketing skills brainwashed them and they got convinced to purchase the membership of 90, 000rs which includes one trip to goa including all types of expenses.
My parents dint carry any cheque book so those people asked for card and my mum gave debit card and asked to take 1000rs as a token amt whereas they swapped it for 10, 000rs. They said its for agreement purpose. When my parents came home with tht lady for the remaining amount I was surprised and so searched for reviews online and thanks to the members of mouthshut.com, I found many members have been cheated by this club. Then I called bunch of my friends who do have such club memberships and they too told me tht these people don’t even send the membership card on time (it takes more than 6-7 months with several calls) so forget about club facilities. After all, these eye opening stuff I immediately stopped payment for remaining 80K and when we asked them for our 10K they just refused to give it back.
My kind request to all the people who receive such calls for lucky winners. Do not fall prey for goodies. Say very rudely not interested and hang up.
