Never book a trip with Cox and Kings unless you have plenty of time and money to waste. We booked American Sojourn 10 days and 9 nights pack, ex Kolkata, at 212000 per head on May 2018.
They booked cheapest possible hotels 50-100 KMS away from the city centers. We wasted most of the day time just for travelling to and fro from the city/airport to hotels. In their website they show some good tentative hotels close to the city center and once you pay they money, Cox and Kings show their real color. The cheap hotels offered bare minimal breakfasts with rotten milks and Colden coffees in cases.
Most of the places mentioned on the itinerary is just touch and go. They wont even allow you to get down, forget about entering the premises. For example, we were driven past ONLY the entrance of Rodheo drive at LA, no stop at Hoover dam, although they were part of the itinerary. Bare minimal time was given for the stops as we were already spending most of our time in the traffic, travelling to and fro from the far away hotels. No stop at Washington monument, Vegas strip. 2 hr for fishermans wharf and pier 39, including lunch time. Every day, we were starting late from hotels and returning early.
For internal flights, to save their money, Cox and Kings booked 1 stop flights for everyone in the group, that too in different airlines, different times. We started from destination airport once everyone gathered. Hence we wasted a full day just travelling from SFO to Buffalo.
Only free entrance were part of the tours, not the tickets inside, e.g. Hershey Chocolate factory. Illumination shows are bluffs, its just that they will show you the street lights already in place, not any show/tour. The person who wrote the tour itinerary should be given Noble price in literature. The feel you get after reading the itinerary is no where close to the feel you get after having the tour.
For optional SFO bay cruise, Cox and Kings charged 42$ per head for tickets worth 32$. Manager said the rest is transportation charge although we started from Pier 39 and Pier 39 was already part of the itinerary. For Grand canyon full tour(bus, boat, helicopter), Cox and kings were asking for 729$ per head where the same package was available at 359$ from local agents!
Tour manager was a good man but just a puppet and following instructions given over phone. Only good part were the sales agents(Sagorika and Madhusudan) in Mirza Galib street office were very professional and always available.
