I agree with most of the review posted on mouthshut. Cox n king remains the worst travel agency I have ever death with they are fraudulent, dishonest, misleading and deceptive in their dealing. I could see Cox n king replying to every post but I think they don’t take the review seriously as they are still continuing with their crooked practices. I will narrate current nightmare that I am going through with Cox n King for a booking I have made with them. I will suggest people looking for holidays to avoid Cox n King.
I planned a honey moon package for Mauritius for first week of December 2011. I talked to various travel operators to get a package for Mauritius for the said date. My fiancee’s acquaintance suggested Cox n King and introduced me to Cox n King in Surat for the package. I also got quote from Cox n King which was 10 K costly then the quotes that I got from other operators. Both Airfares (compared to online rates) and Hotel rate were inflated by 5K each. Hence I decided not to go with Cox n King, at which they contacted me to know why I did not wanted to go with them. Hence I explained that there rates are not acceptable to me. I also explained how the rates are inflated by Cox and King. The representative agreed to decrease airfares to the comparable rate as I am doing early booking. On the hotel rates he said Cox and King will provide superior services, better room and extra activities as compared to the other operators. If he is not able to provide he will provide cash discounts for equal amount. Since Cox n King came through an acquaintance I thought to go with them and paid advance. Once they got the advance for air tickets they started showing their true color.
My fiancee mailed them list of preferred activities or services she would like to have. She followed up with them for about two months but they just did not reply to her request. I then intervened to see what is happening as nothing was happening after I paid the advance. To my surprise there representative replied that they have given too much discount and will not be able to provide much more. He also asked me to pay in complete the air fare. To which I agreed and said that I will pay the pending amount of air fare to them. I asked him to send me the invoice for the air tickets. To my surprise the invoice rate for airfare where the original fare to which I had disagreed. I asked them that these rates are not to which I have agreed to and agreed rates are lesser by 5K. To which they replied they don’t remember quoting any other rates. Also I noted that the invoice was haphazard and actually included 2 invoices one for airfares and other for adhoc taxes.
I am stuck with them as I have paid Advance and will have to pay heavy fee if I cancel. But I would definitely suggest other travelers beware of their fraudulent practices and not believe in whatever Cox n King claims.
