Stay away & save your money (chennai cox &kings)

I had booked for the Euro Tour Program through Cox and Kings on 21.1.10. and had paid Rs.18000/- as an advance through Cheque. After booking, I developed sudden back pain and I underwent tests and my doctor has advised complete rest for at least six months. Hence I had no choice but to cancel the program and I request them to reimburse the 18000/- which I paid as an advance.


This request was made with in two weeks, since I had made the advance payment. But to my horror, they did not bother to accept this, nor were they willing to transfer it to another person (my son). No point in being in the Tourism Industry and not giving a damn about the customer.


Further I have done some more research and found out that the Duniya Dekho program is such an eye-wash and a total rip off. Please go to  SOTC, where they will treat you like a GOD and respect you. I did a big mistake and I will never ever go to COX& Kings again.

Dear Mr. Aadhan,  There seems to be some miscommunication on this whole issue. We believe that you may have forgotten that you have signed and accepted the terms and conditions of the package that you have bought. Secondly, your assumption that we have charged Rs 18,000 non refundable booking amount for a single person is incorrect. The charge was only Rs 3,000 per person and the full amount of Rs 18,000 was for six people. When a customer books with Cox and Kings his booking amount is insured subject to the customer paying the full booking amount of Rs 20,000 per person. In your case, the criterion was not fulfilled as you had paid only the reservation amount of Rs 3,000 per person. The insurance segment to claim under trip cancellation kicks in only if the customer is sick and hospitalised wherein the doctor advises in writing that the customer is unable to undertake the journey as a result of the ailment and thereby forced to cancel the journey. We noticed that you have forgotten to mention in your complaint that as a special goodwill gesture, Cox and Kings had already extended a credit note, whereby you could redeem the non-refundable booking amount for any tour with us. It is our endevour to take care of our customers and help them in any possible way and we assure that you can travel with us anytime this year and we will assist you on the same.
