Craft stores in India is a big issue, we don’t have good awareness about craft products, neither we encourage anything related to craft as it is in the U.S.The truth is that we should let new talent and artist come up with innovative stuff and products and need to encourage them so that the craft scene in our country also becomes strong.
I happened to visit a site craftcart.in which is a online store for handmade items, it has candles, newspaper box, dolls, frames, cards, jewellery and other stuff, I managed to lay my hand on a set of quilted dolls and bought it, the product and service turned out to be great and satisfactory.
The pluses of the site according to me are-
1.The Set-Up:I liked the tagline which says"Endorse handmade"which is unique and makes you promote anything which has been made or conceptualized by hand.The web page is also creative.The site has been put up well with a separate category for all different items which makes it easy for you to browse the products.The layout and web page is praise-worthy.
2.Novel-I am very much interested in crafts and myself do a lot of craftwork, and I usually get to see online stores selling craft accessories but there is no site which is dedicated completely to selling handmade stuff, there are few others but as of now I have really taken a liking to this site.
3.Price-The other thing I liked about the site are the reasonable prices.For a hand-made product which requires so much skill and effort, the prices are not very high and can be bought by anybody as a gift item or for self.In today’s age and time when ordinary stuff is sold at sky-rocketed prices this is a boon and very affordable.
4.Variety-There is a fair amount of variety on the site, and we can choose from a lot of categories what we wish to buy.There is handmade candles, newspaper basket, quilted items, photo-frames, gift tags, cards etc.
5.Special mention-I have never seen in India these kind of quilted dolls so that is something very interesting and awe-inspiring.
The only con I felt is that the site is not very well known yet as it is quite new but I would definitely recommend the site to everyone who likes to make their loved ones feel special by gifting them with something which is completely handmade.
