Autoform Engineering has filed a lawsuit against Engineering Technology Associates(ETA), a fully owned subsidiary of Cranes Software.The lawsuit involves AutoForms United States Patent No. 7, 623, 939(the 939 patent), entitled "Method for Designing a Tool for Deep Drawing and Tool for Deep Drawing of Sheet Metal."

This is the same subsidiary of Cranes Software that had claimed to win an award lesser than a year ago. Their methodology of taking such shortcuts has now come to light. It will not be possible for the owners of Cranes to sell off their subsidiary now. They should have done it a couple of months ago.
