He was dead .... he got better
I knew I had to watch the sequel the moment I knew it was getting released. I watched Crank 1 way back in 2006 and being a Jason Statham fan absolutely loved it.
I did however fail to understand how the sequel could be possible till I watched the trailer. Well Crank 1 deals with the fact that an assasin for hire, Chev Chelios ( played by Jason S ) was poisoned by his rival Verona. Now that was some Chineese poison which would gradually slow down Chelios heartbeat and if his heartbeat was to drop below a certain level, it would kill him.
So Crank 1 dealt with Chev Chelios keeping himself alive by various ways long enough to hunt down Verona for revenge. Now those ways he kept himself alive was what Crank 1 all about. He just needed to keep his heartbeat up above a level so he did everything from making love to his beautiful girlfriend (played by Amy Smart) to shocking his heart with a defibrillator.
He just refused to die !! Anyhow Crank 1 ends with Chev getting his revenge by dragging Verona down off a helicopter in mid air and falling alongside with him.
Now Crank 2 starts when his "body" is scooped up from the streets by gang members to harness his organs. They remove his heart (after rumours spread in the mob that even the chineese poison couldnt kill his strong heart) and place an artifical heart in its place which requires regular jolts of electricity.
Now this is where our boy wakes up, analyses the situation, is pissed off about it , needs to shock himself from time to time and needs to get his heart back at all cost.
Crank 2 is much more insane than its predecessor, has a lot more action, is a lot more dirtier and makes even lesser sense but it is one of those movies which you just have to see to believe .
Being even a higher pumping iron adrelin rush non stop 1 and a half hour action flick, its a must watch for all those action junkies who love Jason Statham.
With the awesome Sound track by Linking park "Givin Up" and many more ... Crank 2 : High voltage ... delivers what it promises
