If you are in Chennai and looking ahead for a place where you can either gather your friends or planning to take your girlfriend/wife/parents for a surprise lunch, then I would recommend you to visit Cream Center, R.A Puram. A magnificent old bungalow-converted-to-restaurant is situated on a peaceful avenue from the hustle and bustle of Chennai. The color scheme, dim lightning, seating arrangement . the entire ambience spoke of style and elegance. A multi-cuisine vegetarian restaurant serves the World’s best Nachos(as it claims to be one . but believe me it was!) will leave you scraping the plates shamelessly! And also a lot of new veg dishes to try ranging from North Indian to Italian to Mexican and Lebanese cuisine.
We started off in a traditional manner with a pretty decent Veg Soup and American Corn Cheese Balls which was quite yummy. Sizzlers are sizzling and scrumptious. Channa bhatura was authentic. I would recommend every soul to give a try on this high priced Chana though. Dum biryani was equally good. Sizzling brownie with dense dark chocolate syrup was great. I was literally scraping in till the last drop of chocolate sauce. The choice of desserts is limited though. Friendly, humble staffs but take a long time to serve every order. Go ahead and dine in style but remember to pay a visit to this place only when you have plenty of time to kill and not on your busy, tight-schedule packed days. Happy dining!
