I bought 30 gb Creative Jukebox Zen NX when it was going at 60% of ipod price and had 50% more disk space then ipod. it was a win-win situation both ways. Now ipod has bought down its price to just around 20% premium on creative devices. Back to the review, the creative jukebox zen nx is a rough and tough music player.
It comes in with 30gb disk space in both usb 2.0 and firewire versions. The sound quality of this one like all creative players is amazing. the ear phones are good if not best. interface-wise it could have had a bigger screen and better scroll wheel but after some time you get used to where the buttons are so that you can use them without looking at the screen.
A remote would have been a great addition. software leave something to be desired. I had never used creative’s software other than first 1-2 days. It is bulky and not so user friendly. Also it is not integrated with the explorer.
Rather I got the redchairsoftware’s notmad explorer. It is excellent piece of software. very small in size but it can do amazing no. of things. It is one investment that I have not regretted. If only creative can integrate it with all their players. So in short other than the size, weight and looks of it compared to ipod this is the best deal. But then in that categories all players even now fall short of ipod. Creative has released zen touch now which is more like ipod in looks but still as a whole package at current price, I think ipod is the best deal.
