The creative MuVo slim one of the best products in its class. It is very sleek and almost the size a credit card with a thickness of about 7mm which makes it highly portable. It is available in 3 memory sizes, 128MB, 256MB and 1GB.
I have the 128MB version as the 256MB and 1GB version was not available at the retailer’s outlet. I bought the Creative player because I love to carry my music along with me. Carrying an P3 CD player was cumbersome.
Morever I do a lot a file transfer between desktops and burning a CD everytime was turning out very expensive; especially when file sizes were small in the range of 100MB. MuVO slim has been a great substitute for this.
The package, along with the player, contains Creative ear phones, a USB cable- to connect to your PC, the software CD bundled, manual and a leather case. The playback quality is excellent The ear phones provide sound of great quality. But the earphone sizes are a little bigger which makes it uncofmortable. But you can substitute these with any stereo ear phone available in the market.
There is no separate charger and it charges through the USB i.e., it charges everytime you connect it to transfer your MP3s. Once charged it can be used for about 15-17hrs of playback. The problem with this is if you go on a long vacation.
It has built in voice recorder and can record for upto 16hrs - depends on memory available- The recording is mono quality but suffices my needs as I can record important calls and notes.
The software bundled along with the player is pretty decent and has options to compress your MP3s before you can transfer them. Playback is available for MP3 and WMA formats.
But you can store files in any format and thus it can also be used for storing yoru documents, ppts etc. This player was the most compact and one having along the features that I needed - quality playback, voice recording etc - and so it was a good choice to buy.
However you need more space to consider the Zen series from Creative or the Apple iPOD
