With the exception of a few couple of films, Vikram Bhatt has, for years now, made the same film over and over again. I actually love watching horror movies, but it seems like bollywood has lost the charisma of making the horror movies that can walk toe-to-toe on par with Hollywoods creativity.
I really loved the movie ***Raaz*** but sadly there is no other explanation for ***Creature 3D***-which is Mrs. Bipashas second horror film after *Humshakals*. This time, Bhatt impregnates the footage with something different.
Instead of using a rapist Ghost(LOL!) like he used in the movie ***Haunted*** or a jilted lover ghost, a stupid creature decides to liven up this movie. This creature is so impressive that it actually makes its surroundings look computer generated, it has chilesed abs and creepy alligator eyes.
The object of this sexual affection is basically a boutique hotel run by the girl with a troubled past, Ahna(Basu). The foggy hill-station is now a valley of fertile land, I guess somewhere in north of India. Everything is fine and doing well till the ghastly creature is fully revealed at the halfway point. From here on it is revealed so often that you just want to pat its head and feed it. Ahna and its irrelevant suitor attempt to kill it by luring it into an empty bus.
Though the creatures fear of fire is revealed early, they insist of using guns instead of bombing the bus into flames. Things go downhill as soon as Mr.Creature is given a name as "Brahm-Rakshas". Somehow Mr.Bhatt brings in a 17th century peepal-tree connection instead of an interesting story. The only thing I feel is that he always links paranormal existing creatures to some hare-brained mythological legend which is beyond the realms of alien understanding.
Over the years, some technicalities in Bhatts film has evolved- but the inconsistent script continues to hamper the horror and unintentional comedy lines. Earlier he had addictive soundtracks which actually seeped in some fear as in the movie ***Raaz***, now he has 3D-none of which are essential to create the element of pure real Horror!
I did love it somewhat but not much. I would rate it as 2 out of 5.
