Dear All,
Lots have been said about the small great man called Sachin Tendulkar. Public memory can be so short, this fact can be proven so very good in the game of indian cricket. Sachin, to his credit has many many records up his sleeve. For starters, he was one of the youngest captains to do the job for his country, what was his team then? Well he had players like Vikram Rathore, Sujith Somasunder to start with, an equally stodgy cricketer(now the famous Rahul Dravid), VVS Laxman, then some great (in)famous cricketers like Mohd Azharuddin n Ajay Jadeja, an equally inept wicket keeper a certain Nayan Mongia then the Golden Karnataka Quartet of Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Dodda Ganesh n a one match flop David Johnson. Well he accepted this team gleefully stuck to his great form of runs led India to victories over SAfrica(one off test), scored many runs against the Aussies a lone crusader to the hilt. While on one hand, he faced debacles of away losses against SA and WI, his team did no good in supporting the great man. Sachin has given us many world cups also to cherish, he contributed with his brilliant all round skills in 1992, entertained much more than a Shahid Afridi could do in 1996, in 1999 even though he lost his father he gave us a brilliant ton n a memorable one at that n yes who can ever forget the World Cup 2003 n his great six off Shoiab Akthar. Well he almost won the World Cup for us. Cricket has always been a team game friends and if you note quite carefully, it is only after this mans advent in Indian Cricket have people started using the phrase single handedly defeating the opposition. There can never be another Sachin Tendulkar, comparisons can always be drawn to a Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag so on and so forth, but the man of our Sachins stature can only be SACHIN. As some one rightly said, Form is Temporary Class is Permanent. God Bless Sachin Tendulkar, May His Tribe Increase
