I think in our country, solutions are seldom sought. We tend to be so overawed by problems, that the situation is best relegated to no-where. Another issue enters the market, and
the earlier one is given a foster treatment. Cricket happens to be one such case and like others, there is no permanent solution.
Isnt it ridiculous that our sports minister sushri Uma Bharti had to grudge us the pleasure of watching our new-look team
sweat it out in the sultry Sharjah night-lights. Wow, just because Pakistan happens to be our arch rival in the artillery,
the poor sports-lovers were denied the innocuous battery of the most likable kinds.
I think it is terribly ridiculous, for how can Uma Bharti be the chosen one to head the sports department. She does know
how to play games, but they are best left untalked-about. Isnt it Madam! Who is she to choose cricket of all games where India-
Pakistan cant be pitted against each other. Just plain-and-simple Ridiculous.
The Board of Control of Cricket in India was rightly adjudged by Mohinder Amarnath as a Bunch of Jokers. They tend to make
such stupid demands and their selection process is totally bizarre. I just cant find any reason whatsoever for omitting Mongia out
of the squad for Zimbabwe. Another case of a forced premature retirement. Sigh Sigh!
I am unable to find valid reasons for so many cricketing bodies. Almost every other day, one official body or the
other crops up. Cant we have a streamlined system governed unilaterally! No way, for we are famous for chaos and we like
to live upto our reputation. The ticket scam in the last one day between the recently held
India-Australia series in Goa is another case in point. Now, why the hell do we need to have one day internationals involving
such a formidable opponent as Australia in such minnow centres as Indore, Pune, Vishakapatnam and then Goa. Just why!? Cricket
is huge today. Such skirmishes earn you a lot of bad name for major internationals are watched by a vast multitude of people
the world over, a situation emerging only recently. I dont think I would wish to indulge myself by giving solutions
for Cricket, especially the officials who make or break lives. Till the time the players are selected on the basis
of region, or sifarish, or due to any other reason other than talent, we shall lag behind. A victory is not an assurance that alls right with Indian cricket.
We must not forget, that things would have looked worse, had we lost the Calcutta test. We happen to have a psychological edge
today due to some brilliant efforts from a few highly motivated cricketers. We are still not a good Team.
Hey, just dont slacken up, theres lots more to be achieved. And as for you BCCI, I am terribly board of you. Go, find another favourite
whipping boy. Huh!
